Here's a ThrowBack Thursday dating back to 2011. I took this with my very first DSLR, a Nikon D3000 on a visit to the historical El Morro Fort in Old San Juan. Enjoy!!! Old San Juan is surrounded by a lot of Sentry Boxes used in the past to defend the City. There's a lot of history and is such a beautiful place to visit and sightseeing. Enjoy!!! Sentry BoxThese were the outposts of protection for the island of San Juan against attacks by sea and by land, the loneliest job of all had to go to the sentries who manned the garitas of the forts. They are the official symbol of San Juan, and it’s easy to see why. There is something a bit romantic about them. They’re photogenic, of course, standing out high above and in stark contrast to the brilliant blue of the sky. Enjoy!!! GaritaIt's no secret that one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Puerto Rico is Old San Juan. That's why every time I get a chance, I go and take pictures again and again. It's almost imposible not to capture beautiful pictures anywhere in Old San Juan. Bellow you can see more "Garitas" or Sentry Boxes. Old San JuanLa Garita, a sentry box at El Morro castle, has come to symbolize Puerto Rico and El Viejo San Juan in particular. Guarding the entrance
